Yang Liuxizi* Irina is an artist / art space owner / curator. She wanders around the blurry boundary between dreams and realities. Her artwork ranges from installations, performances, graphics, words to animation. She believes that, although our empirical lives are essential in art, our dreams serve as portals to access the transcendental part of us. She departs from her own stories and dreamlands, maximizes her sensational experience, then translates them into the language of arts and “makes them real”. She often roleplays a character in her dreams and even drags her audience into the sea of her imagination. Together they share the experience of what has happened, or what may happen.
The art space Weiden Space is co-managed with the artist Yang Dingliu and is located at Flingern Nord, Ackerstraße 34 in Düsseldorf.
