Irina want to invite all of the school’s teachers, students and staff to a communal meal. After discussions with Professor Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, they agreed on a chronological concept – 400 years, from the founding of the school in 1773 to its quadricentennial in 2173. With this dinner, the school not only celebrated its past, but also explored the future of food, lifestyle and culture. The past and the future were intertwined.

In the texture of Eastern civilization, culinary culture flows as a millennium-old spiritual bloodstream. Yang Liuxizi, drawing inspiration from Chinese Painting 《The Night Revels of Han Xizai》, weaves the earthly vitality into the elongated feast traditions of European courts. As the sprawling academic corridors transform into a cultural scroll spanning Eurasia, celadon cups and silver candlesticks resonate within temporal folds. This nine-century-spanning symposium transcends mere gastronomic pilgrimage – in the crevices of the post-pandemic era, it uses culinary vapors to smooth the wrinkles of souls. Under enamel-textured moonlight, the Eastern “Zen of dining” and Western “Sacramental feast” engage in a cross-temporal dialogue, healing civilization’s nostalgia through cultural communion.
